Sarawak Governor Receives Courtesy Visit From Delegation For Sarawak-Level Official Birthday Celebration Of His Majesty The King
KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from the organising committee for the Sarawak-level celebration of the Official Birthday of His Majesty the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Astana Negeri Sarawak on Tuesday.
The delegation was led by the Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department, Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, who is the Minister responsible for the celebration, together with several committee members comprising ministers and deputy ministers of the Sarawak Government.
The courtesy call was held to formally invite Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan to attend the thanksgiving ceremony and tea reception in conjunction with the Sarawak-level celebration of the Official Birthday of His Majesty the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for 2026.
Among those who joined the courtesy visit were the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam and the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.
Also accompanying the delegation were the Director of the Unit for Other Religions Affairs (UNIFOR), Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, Resident of Betong Division, Datu Richard Michael Abunawas, Director of the Sarawak Protocol, Ceremonial and Events Management Unit (UPPANS), Datu Hamdan Sharbini, Director of the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, Director of the Malaysian Information Department (JAPEN) Sarawak, Sabri Said, Deputy Director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Ustaz Abang Burhanuddin Abang Masuine and Deputy Resident of Betong Division, Mohammad Nizam Wang.
Meanwhile, the events are scheduled to be held on 13 and 14 June in the Betong Division and form part of the main programme of the celebration, aimed at expressing the people’s respect and loyalty to the constitutional monarchy institution.
During the meeting, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended by the organising committee.
He also hoped that the celebration would proceed smoothly and achieve its objective of strengthening the spirit of unity, loyalty and the love of the people of Sarawak towards the Constitutional Monarchy Institution. -UKASnews
