Puan Sri Lim Su Kheng's Passing A Great Loss For SABATI & The Community
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, has described the passing of the late Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, the mother of the Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, as a major loss.
This sentiment is not only felt by the immediate family but also by the community and the Welfare Association of Sarawak Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers (SABATI), which had benefited from her dedicated service.
According to Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, the late Puan Sri Lim played a significant role since Datuk Amar Dr. Sim was appointed as the Deputy Premier.
She provided continuous support to him and was actively involved in various community activities.
“The late Puan Sri was an exceptionally kind person to the community and to us here at SABATI.
“She contributed immensely to various welfare and community programmes. Her loss is deeply felt,” he stated.
He made the remarks when met by reporters after paying a condolence visit to Datuk Amar Dr. Sim at his residence in Kenyalang Park on Tuesday, where he conveyed sympathies on behalf of the state cabinet.
Puan Sri Lim passed away on Monday at the age of 83.
Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also shared that the late Puan Sri Lim’s role in SABATI, during her tenure in the association, had a profound impact on the execution of community activities, including efforts to assist those in need.
“All of us are deeply saddened by this loss. We pray that Datuk Amar Dr. Sim’s family will be able to get through this difficult time with fortitude,” he added.
He further expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Datuk Amar Dr. Sim’s family for all the late Puan Sri Lim’s contributions and commitment, which had benefited the people of Sarawak. -UKASnews
