Clean Water Supply Boosts Learning Environment At SK Ulu Entaih Through Safewater Asia CSR Initiative
JULAU: A long-awaited source of clean, treated water has finally reached SK Ulu Entaih, bringing relief and renewed optimism to the rural school community through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Safewater Asia Sdn. Bhd.
Fully completed in October, the project involved the installation of a comprehensive water filtration system, delivery of storage tanks, fitting of supporting equipment, and safety testing.
Laboratory analysis by EnviC Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. confirmed that the new supply is clean, safe, and suitable for drinking.
SK Ulu Entaih headmaster, Kennedy Ating Lansam, said the contribution marks a meaningful milestone for the school.
“We are truly grateful to Safewater Asia Sdn. Bhd. for providing this clean water system to our school,” he said.
He also extended appreciation to the Sarawak State Education Department and Julau District Education Office for ensuring the project was implemented smoothly.
The upgraded facility benefits 74 pupils and 22 staff members, including 14 teachers and 8 non-academic personnel.
Kennedy noted that reliable access to treated water will significantly improve student comfort and support a better working environment for teachers.
He expressed hope that the entire school community will make full use of the new facility to ensure long-term benefits.
The initiative highlights the growing potential of partnerships between corporate organisations and educational institutions in strengthening basic infrastructure for rural schools, particularly in remote areas such as Julau. -UKASnews
