SIMUNJAN: Strengthening community unity and equipping smallholders with better skills are key to accelerating Simunjan’s development.

Simunjan Assemblyman Awla Dris said meaningful progress can only be achieved when the government and community work hand in hand, adding that programmes such as Simunjan Sejahtera help bridge gaps between youth, families and local leaders while nurturing a stronger sense of togetherness.

He also highlighted the programme’s economic component, noting that the workshop conducted by Solidaridad under the Smart Smallholders and Environmental Conservation Initiative provides essential training for oil palm smallholders to enhance their knowledge, competitiveness and long-term income.

Awla praised the strong volunteer spirit shown by Kampung Emplas residents and encouraged the community to continue strengthening unity, participating in development activities, prioritising education and upskilling, and maintaining village cleanliness.

Also present were Simunjan District Officer Sanuyah Mohamad, who is also the Chairperson of the Simunjan District Council, Acting Secretary of the Simunjan District Council, Sabli Razak, Solidaridad representative, Khairul Zaman Abdullah, Penghulu Jubin Sili as well as council members, community leaders and villagers. -UKASnews
