Kasih Ramadan Aid Eases Burden Ahead Of Aidilfitri
MIRI: The Kasih Ramadan Aid programme featuring the distribution of bubur lambuk and a breaking-of-fast event with community leaders at Surau Hidayatullah in Kampung Lereng Bukit benefited local residents, particularly those in need.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and Piasau Assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew said the programme is part of ongoing efforts to help ease the burden of the people during the month of Ramadan.
He stated that the latest programme at Kampung Lereng Bukit saw the distribution of 1,200 five-kilogramme bags of rice, 600 duit raya packets and 600 packs of essential goods to families in need in readiness for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Of the total, 600 bags of rice were sponsored by Tong Seng Huat Rice Trading Sdn Bhd and Liansin Trading Sdn Bhd, while 600 loaves of bread were sponsored by The Twin Brothers Patisserie.
The rest of the contributions came from Datuk Sebastian himself, comprising 600 duit raya packets, 600 five-kilogram bags of rice, and 600 packs of essential goods each containing two kilograms of sugar, two kilograms of cooking oil, biscuits and an apron.
According to him, the Kasih Ramadan Aid for this year, Bubur Lambuk Distribution and Iftar with Leaders programme was implemented in seven villages within the Piasau constituency to ensure assistance reaches those who need it directly.
The villages involved were Kampung Luak, Kampung Haji Wahed, Kampung Tudan Desaras Phase 6, Kampung Pulau Melayu, Kampung Wireless, Kampung Senadin Jaya and Kampung Lereng Bukit.
He also expressed gratitude to all sponsors, community leaders and village committees who contributed to the programme’s success, enabling more families to feel the community’s warmth and care during Ramadan. -UKASnews
