Batu Kawa Innovation Hub Now Open For Public Reservations
KUCHING: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering the digital community and local entrepreneurs with the full operation of the Batu Kawa Innovation Hub (BKIH), which is now open for public bookings and use.
According to TEGAS, BKIH is strategically located at An Cheng Ho Sports & Community Hall, Batu Kawa and provides a conducive innovation space to support various activities including professional work, meetings, as well as the organisation of community and entrepreneurial events.
“The establishment of BKIH in this area is the brainchild of Sarawak Deputy Premier and Batu Kawah Assemblyman Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, which was realised with the support of the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
“This initiative is part of the ongoing transformation master plan to empower Batu Kawa as a sustainable digital centre of excellence,” it said in a statement on Monday.
TEGAS added that BKIH offers three main types of facilities equipped with modern amenities, namely a meeting room with capacity for up to 10 people, equipped with high-speed internet, Smart TV, pantry access and cleaning services.
“It is also equipped with hot desks, an open workspace for up to 30 users with printing facilities and access to capacity building and entrepreneurship programmes, as well as an event space suitable for 30 to 80 participants with technology facilities and high-speed internet.
“This initiative aims to provide affordable workspaces and a support platform for entrepreneurs, students, start-ups, and local communities to grow in the digital economy,” TEGAS said.
