BETONG: The spirit of cooperation among the local community remains a vital pillar in ensuring that the wellbeing and development of the Betong area are implemented effectively.

Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, stated that the role of every segment of society is essential in supporting planned development efforts.

“Maintaining stability is not the role of a single individual, but a collective responsibility for all levels of society,” he said.

He said this while speaking at the Thanksgiving Ceremony for Penghulu Sebastian Randy Kadam at the Semumok Atas Longhouse on Friday.

According to the Layar Assemblyman, good relations between the community and local leaders can strengthen service delivery and ensure that every planned initiative benefits the residents.

In the meantime, Datuk Gerald also emphasised the importance of preparing complete and organised working papers to facilitate applications for infrastructure projects.

He noted that accurate and comprehensive information would help expedite the evaluation and implementation process for the benefit of all.

Furthermore, he expressed appreciation for the community’s concern, particularly among the youth, who are increasingly aware of local development and capable of providing constructive feedback respectfully.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Betong, Dato Dr Richard Rapu, stated that efforts to empower regional development continue to be strengthened through the cooperation of various parties.

According to him, several approaches are being implemented, including identifying funding sources to support development projects and socio-economic enhancement programmes for the residents.

He added that his office remains open to receiving public views and feedback to ensure that every need is given appropriate attention. -UKASnews
