Full Rehearsal For 2026 Hari Gawai Dayak Open House Runs Smoothly
KUCHING: Preparations for the 2026 Hari Gawai Dayak Open House, which will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) Complex, Kuching, are now in the final stages with a full rehearsal held to ensure its smooth running.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas was present to oversee the preparations and the flow of the rehearsal, which involved various segments and logistical aspects to welcome the arrival of guests.
The inspection aimed to ensure that all planning proceeds according to schedule, besides providing the organizing committee an opportunity to make final adjustments before the event takes place.
Throughout the rehearsal, various cultural performances and official itineraries were tested to guarantee the seamless execution of the programme, which stands as one of the main highlights of the Hari Gawai Dayak celebration in Sarawak.
Also present to witness the rehearsal were personnel from the Sarawak Protocol, Ceremony and Event Management Unit (UPPAN) alongside other agencies involved in the coordination and management of the event.
The 2026 Hari Gawai Dayak Open House will be open to the public starting as early as 9:00 a.m. and is expected to welcome visitors from various societal backgrounds to celebrate the festival together in an atmosphere full of goodwill and harmony.
The event is also expected to be graced by the presence of the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, alongside line-ups of state government leaders.
The open house is anticipated to serve as a platform to further strengthen unity, mutual understanding, and the spirit of togetherness among the multi-ethnic population in Sarawak, in line with the spirit of Hari Gawai Dayak celebrated annually. — UKASnews
