GKCDA Projects Drive Development In Kampung Pasir Tengah, Strengthen Rural Infrastructure
LUNDU: The implementation of several development projects under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) continues to strengthen rural infrastructure in Kampung Pasir Tengah, while enhancing the well-being and quality of life of local residents.
Opar Assemblyman Billy Sujang said the projects not only provide improved physical facilities but also serve as catalysts for the community’s social and economic development.
He said this while officiating at the launch of GKCDA projects in conjunction with the Pre-Gawai 2026 Celebration in Kampung Pasir Tengah on Saturday.
According to him, among the projects successfully completed were the Sangat Road and Bridge Project, the Batu Wangkang Agricultural Road Project, the House-to-House Road Surfacing Project, and the construction of a Village Multipurpose Hall.
He said the improved roads and bridges have facilitated residents’ mobility and enhanced access to surrounding areas, while the Batu Wangkang Agricultural Road has greatly benefited farmers by easing the transportation of agricultural produce and reducing operational costs.
“The House-to-House Road Surfacing Project has improved the comfort and safety of residents, particularly during the rainy season, while the Village Multipurpose Hall provides a more conducive venue for various community, cultural, educational and unity-related activities,” he said.
He stressed that these projects represent the government’s long-term investment in ensuring that more balanced and inclusive development can be enjoyed by rural communities.
