Sarawak Premier Convoy Programme Historic Moment For Pusa Residents
PUSA: The motorcycle convoy led by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg to Pusa marked a historic moment for the local residents when they had the opportunity to welcome and engage with the state's top leadership after the Batang Lupar 1 Bridge Opening Ceremony.
The convoy’s arrival at Dataran Tandang Sari, Pusa was greeted with enthusiasm by the crowd who described the programme as a symbol of camaraderie between the leaders and the people as well as evidence of the Sarawak Government's commitment in bringing development to rural areas.
The convoy was part of the Sarawak Premier's journey after inaugurating the Batang Lupar 1 Bridge in Sebuyau before continuing to Sarikei and Sibu.
The residents who were met also expressed their appreciation to Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari and the Sarawak Government for the implementation of various strategic infrastructure projects that has transformed the development landscape in coastal areas.
Pusa District Officer Hamdan Katang said that the Sarawak Premier’s presence gave a boost of enthusiasm to the local community in jointly developing the district.
Meanwhile, Pusa Zone Councillor Ramzi Rasit described the construction of Batang Saribas Bridge 1 and 2 as well as Batang Lupar Bridge 1 as a catalyst for economic development and the mobility of local residents as it is not only capable of shortening travel time, but also strengthening connections between coastal areas.
The same view was also shared by the Temenggong of Betong Division Piee Alwi, Penghulu of Kampung Spinang, Semarang and Batang Maro Musa Zin and the Head of Kampung Hilir Beladin Awang Subhi Awang Halil who described the presence of the Sarawak Premier as a manifestation of appreciation for the rural community, in addition to strengthening the relationship between the people and the state leadership.
Also joining the convoy were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, MTCP Deputy Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, Batang Lupar Member of Parliament Mohamad Shafizan Kepli and Beting Maro Assemblyman Razaili Gapor. -UKASnews
