KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received a courtesy visit from the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kuching Xing Weiping at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here on Tuesday.

The visit served as a platform for both parties to exchange views on various matters of mutual interest, in addition to discussing efforts to strengthen existing relations.

The meeting also reflected the close relationship between Sarawak and China as well as the commitment of both parties to explore the potential of new cooperation capable of being mutually beneficial in various fields.

Also present during the courtesy visit were Permanent Secretary to the Ministry for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datu Lester Matthew, Director of the Sarawak Climate and Energy Diplomacy Unit (SACED) Ir Dr Angelia Liew San Chuin and Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry for Transport (MOTS) Mohamad Lotfi Tuah. -UKASnews
