Sarawak Pavilion Crowned Best State Pavilion At MAHA 2026
KUCHING: The Sarawak Pavilion has been named the Best State Pavilion at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026, earning the state the overall champion title for the prestigious event.
The achievement saw Sarawak Pavilion bringing home RM15,000 in prize money together with a certificate of appreciation, further highlighting the state’s success in showcasing the uniqueness, diversity and potential of its agro-food and commodity sectors at the national level.
In a statement posted on the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak (M-FICORD) Facebook page on Saturday, the ministry said the recognition reflected the strong commitment, dedication and collective efforts of the entire team involved in ensuring Sarawak’s participation at MAHA 2026 was successfully delivered.
The award was received by M-FICORD Permanent Secretary Datu Sirai Daha, together with officers and personnel serving at the Sarawak Pavilion.
The ministry said the achievement served as a symbol of appreciation for the team’s efforts in effectively presenting Sarawak’s image and identity to visitors from across the country.
The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Malaysia Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu.
M-FICORD said the recognition as Best State Pavilion and MAHA 2026 champion reflected the close collaboration, commitment and dedication of various Sarawak ministries, departments, agencies, entrepreneurs and industry players in promoting the strengths and uniqueness of the state’s agro-food, agriculture and commodity sectors.
The ministry added that Sarawak’s participation in MAHA was not merely an exhibition platform, but also served as a strategic avenue to introduce the state’s products, innovations, culture, entrepreneurship and agro-food and commodity potential to a wider audience.
MAHA 2026 was held from Aug 28 to Sept 6 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Serdang. -UKASnews
