SAINS Wins Digital Infrastructure Award At PIKOM Digital Excellence Awards 2026
KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) has been honoured with the Digital Infrastructure Award at the PIKOM Digital Excellence Awards 2026, recognising its achievements in technological innovation, strategic vision and leadership in developing Sarawak's Sovereign AI infrastructure.
In a media statement issued on Friday, the company said the award was presented by PIKOM chairman Alex Liew at the awards ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, with SAINS Chief Executive Officer Busiai Seman receiving the award on behalf of the company.
SAINS' Sovereign AI Infrastructure establishes an independent, state-governed, high-performance computing (HPC) environment to support Sarawak's long-term AI ambitions.
Fully hosted within SAINS' secure data centre, the infrastructure embeds "Sovereignty-by-Design" into the infrastructure layer, transforming AI compute into a strategic state capability.
The company said its strategic vision is to establish the Sovereign AI Infrastructure as the long-term digital foundation for Sarawak's AI future, where innovation, governance and public value are built on infrastructure that remains secure, trusted, locally governed and built to scale.
The recognition reflects SAINS' continued commitment to technological innovation and strengthening Sarawak's digital infrastructure, while supporting the state's aspirations in AI and the digital economy.
SAINS is the leading ICT solutions provider in Sarawak and a key driver of the state's digital transformation, offering end-to-end ICT services from business solutions to system integration in support of Sarawak's digital economy. –UKASnews
