Affin Hwang Investment Bank Partners With Eurex To Expand European Futures Access In Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad today officially launched access to selected Eurex-listed futures through its partnership with Eurex, the leading European derivatives exchange.
According to a statement by AFFIN, the collaboration expands AFFIN HWANG’s Foreign Futures offering, providing eligible clients in Malaysia with a local pathway to European market exposures.
“The collaboration expands access for Malaysian investors to European derivatives markets, with AFFIN HWANG offering eligible clients selected futures listed on Eurex, one of Europe’s leading derivatives exchanges.
“Spanning major asset classes including equity indices, interest rates, equities and volatility, the expanded offering gives investors greater flexibility to diversify beyond domestic markets, manage portfolio risk and capture opportunities arising from market movements across Europe,” it said on Monday.
The move represents the latest step in AFFIN HWANG’s expansion of its Foreign Futures business, which has been progressively strengthened since 2023 through strategic collaborations with global market leaders.
As Malaysian investors increasingly look beyond traditional and domestic markets for diversification, AFFIN HWANG is positioning itself as a local gateway to global opportunities, combining broader market access with structured investor education, disciplined onboarding and dedicated support to promote informed and responsible participation in international derivatives markets.
In the same statement, Chief Executive Officer of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad Hanif Ghulam Mohammed said that European markets offer distinct sources of equity, interest-rate and volatility exposure.
“Through our partnership with Eurex, we are bringing these markets closer to our clients through a trusted local platform, giving them additional tools to diversify, manage risk and respond to developments across global market cycles.
“This is a deliberate next step in the growth of our Foreign Futures proposition. We are broadening the range of global exposures available to our clients while maintaining our focus on education, disciplined onboarding and informed participation.
“Guided by AFFIN Group’s Axelerate 2028 (AX28) Plan, we continue to strengthen our investment platform and deliver Unrivalled Customer Service through a more seamless end-to-end client journey,” he added.
Meanwhile, Head of APAC Sales at Eurex Mathieu Fuhrmann said that as investors look to broaden their portfolios beyond domestic and U.S. markets, access to European and global benchmarks is becoming increasingly important.
“Our partnership with Affin Hwang provides eligible Malaysian investors with a local gateway to Eurex's derivatives marketplace, offering additional tools to diversify exposures, manage risk and capitalize on opportunities across global markets,” he said.
At the official launch held at Menara AFFIN @ TRX, Eurex presented AFFIN HWANG with the ‘Best Emerging Broker’ award, recognising the bank’s strong growth in foreign futures, commitment to investor education and efforts to expand access to international derivatives markets for Malaysian investors.
Through its partnership with Eurex, AFFIN HWANG will continue to conduct educational programmes, client briefings and market engagement initiatives to support adoption and strengthen investors’ understanding of European futures. -UKASnews
