Close Cooperation Strengthens Delivery Of Basic Amenities To The People
KUCHING: Close cooperation between the Sarawak Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication (MUT) and implementing departments and agencies continues to be strengthened to ensure the provision of basic amenities, particularly water, electricity and telecommunications, meets the needs of the people throughout Sarawak.
Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi said the growing needs of the people required sustained commitment and effective coordination among all parties to ensure development projects were implemented smoothly.
“Our people are becoming increasingly dynamic in their demand for basic amenities, not only water and electricity supply, but also communication facilities and internet access,” he said.
He said this when speaking at an appreciation ceremony held in conjunction with the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting, organised by MUT here on Tuesday night.
He added that Sarawak’s vast geographical area, coupled with geographical and logistical challenges, required careful planning, effective coordination and teamwork to ensure utility and telecommunications projects achieved their intended objectives.
In this regard, he stressed that the commitment of ministry personnel, departments and implementing agencies played an important role in improving service delivery efficiency, particularly for communities in rural and remote areas.
Dato Sri Julaihi also expressed his appreciation to all MUT personnel and relevant agencies for their dedication and commitment in ensuring continued progress in the state’s basic amenities development agenda.
“Thank you all for your cooperation, which has enabled the ministry and agencies to move forward and make progress.
“We are on the right track thanks to your full cooperation,” he said.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Utility (Telecommunication) Datuk Liwan Lagang, Deputy Minister of Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki, heads of departments, agency representatives and MUT personnel. -UKASnews
