Rural Infrastructure In Opar Strengthened Through Two New GKCDA Projects
LUNDU: Efforts to enhance basic infrastructure in rural areas of the Opar constituency continue to gain momentum with the implementation of two new high-impact development projects under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), following handover ceremonies held in Kampung Pasir Hulu and Kampung Judin today.
The ceremonies were officiated by Opar Assemblyman Billy Sujang, reflecting the Sarawak Government’s ongoing commitment to accelerating rural development and improving the quality of life for communities including in the Opar constituency.
One of the projects being implemented is the Phase 2 upgrading of the Kampung Pasir Hulu Road to the Rantau Panjang area with an allocation of RM688,000.
The project aims to improve rural road connectivity, ensuring safer and more convenient access for residents, particularly for daily mobility and the transportation of agricultural produce.
Also implemented is the upgrading of the Kampung Judin Multi-Purpose Hall, valued at RM250,000, which is expected to provide a more conducive and functional space for community activities, social programmes and local development initiatives.
In addition, the programme also announced the implementation of a Rumah Ranto upgrading project with an allocation of RM300,000, further strengthening public facilities and supporting the overall well-being of residents in the Opar area. -UKASnews
