SKM Sarawak Disburses RM23,100 To SK Tanjung Pisang Selangking
SIMUNJAN: The Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM) Sarawak has disbursed a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution of RM23,100 to students at SK Tanjung Pisang Selangking to strengthen educational welfare and community development.
Member of Parliament for Batang Sadong Rodiyah Sapiee said the contribution reflects the cooperative movement's concern for educational needs, as well as helping to ease the burden of parents
"I hope this contribution will not only improve the quality of learning but also ease the burden of parents and reflect the cooperative movement's concern in supporting the rural community," she said when speaking at the Khatam Al-Quran, Appreciation and Graduation Day 2025 Ceremony at the Kampung Selangking JKKK Hall, on Thursday.
At the same ceremony, she also announced the approval of a new open futsal court development project at SK Tanjung Pisang Selangking at a cost of RM500,000 through her constituency’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP) allocation.
“This facility will strengthen sports activities, improve students’ health and provide a more conducive space for the development of sports talent,” she said.
In addition, Rodiyah shared that the RM150,000 upgrade project for the Kampung Selangking JKKK Hall was also approved through her RTP allocation.
The SKM Board of Directors Member further stressed her commitment to continue supporting the education agenda in the Simunjan District through strategic collaboration between SKM, the Batang Sadong Parliament, the school, the PIBG and the local community.
The ceremony also saw the Khatam Al-Quran, Appreciation and Graduation ceremony which highlighted the students’ educational aspirations, involving 15 Year 6 students who successfully completed the Al-Quran and 10 preschool students who were celebrated for their achievements.
Also present were Simunjan Assemblyman Awla Dris, Sarawak SKM Director Norazlan Anuar, Simunjan District Education Officer Hasbi Ancheh, Headmaster of SK Tanjung Pisang Selangking Bakar Berahim, officers from SKM, village heads and parents. -UKASnews
