Khatan Perdana Programme Benefits Over 200 Students In Kuala Rajang
KUALA RAJANG: More than 200 schoolchildren across the Kuala Rajang constituency benefited from the Khatan Perdana Programme, a community health initiative organised by the Kuala Rajang Service Centre, which recorded encouraging participation from residents.
Held from December 20 to 24, the five-day programme was an initiative of Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Sarawak and Assemblyman for Kuala Rajang, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, as part of ongoing efforts to ease the welfare and healthcare needs of families in the area.
Implemented by the Kuala Rajang Youth Wing under the leadership of its chief, Mornurazli Morshidi, the programme was supported by youth members and volunteers from the Kuala Rajang Service Centre to ensure smooth operations throughout the five days.
To maximise outreach, the programme was conducted at four locations, namely the Darul Arqam Mosque Hall in Belawai, Al-Mutaqqin Mosque in Sarikei, JKKK Hall of Rumah Cherengga in Sare, and the Selalang Village Community Hall.
A total of 205 students participated in the programme, involving children from various ethnic backgrounds including Malay, Iban and Chinese, reflecting the inclusive and harmonious social fabric of the Kuala Rajang constituency.
Beyond its healthcare benefits, the programme also served as a platform to strengthen community ties and foster unity among residents from different areas and backgrounds.
Meanwhile, two additional community programmes, namely the Back to School Programme and a Free Haircut Programme, are scheduled to be implemented soon to further assist residents in the Kuala Rajang constituency.
All these initiatives are part of annual programmes spearheaded by Datuk Len Talif as a continuous effort to serve the people while helping to reduce household expenses, particularly those related to children’s needs. -UKASnews
