Dato Sri Fatimah Receives Proposal For OKU Digital Inclusion Platform
KUCHING: Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, has received a proposal for the development of a Digital Inclusion Platform and an assessment of its socioeconomic impact on persons with disabilities (OKU).
This was highlighted during a courtesy visit from a delegation led by Prof Dr Ida Adi Badiozaman of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus and Prof Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
During the visit, the delegation presented a proposal on the development of a Digital Inclusion Platform and an assessment of its socioeconomic impact on persons with disabilities, aimed at promoting accessibility, inclusion and empowerment through digital innovation.
The proposed initiative seeks to leverage digital technologies and data-driven approaches to support inclusive development, while ensuring that the perspectives and needs of persons with disabilities are meaningfully integrated into policy planning and programme implementation.
Dato Sri Fatimah welcomed the proposal and emphasised the importance of strong collaboration between government, academic institutions and industry partners in advancing digital inclusion and improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in Sarawak.
The courtesy visit reflected a shared commitment by all parties to strengthen partnerships and explore innovative, inclusive solutions that contribute to sustainable and equitable development. - UKASnews
