ASSAR Announces Dividend Of 3.0 Sen Per Unit, Benefits 57,878 Unitholders
KUCHING: Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad (ASSAR) on Friday announced the distribution of an interim dividend of 3.0 sen per unit for the financial year ending 30 June 2026, involving a total of RM15.24 million to 57,878 unit holders.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said the distribution was the fifth after the restructuring of ASSAR and was calculated based on the remaining unit holdings as at 31 December 2025.
“This fifth distribution after the restructuring, amounting to RM15.24 million, will benefit 57,878 ASSAR unit holders, calculated based on their remaining unit holdings as at 31 December 2025.
“This means that there is an excess income of RM12.95 million available as a reserve to cover the income of the ASSAR fund for the next period,” he said at a ceremony held at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on Friday.
Meanwhile, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari informed that ASSAR’s performance remained stable as a result of a prudent asset allocation strategy and proactive risk management.
According to him, for the first six months of the financial year ending 30 June 2026, ASSAR realised gross income of RM19.87 million.
“Total gross income realised for the first six months of the financial year ending 30 June 2026 was RM19.87 million, of which 42 per cent or RM8.34 million was interest income from fixed-income securities, and 36 per cent or RM7.18 million was profit from the sale of equities/shares.
“In addition, 14 per cent or RM2.83 million was dividend income from equity/share holdings; and the remaining 8 per cent or RM1.52 million consisted of interest income from money market instruments and profit from the sale of fixed-income securities,” he explained.
The Sarawak Premier said that fixed-income securities continued to be the backbone of ASSAR’s fund, providing a stable income stream and mitigating the impact of less volatile stock market conditions.
He said that after deducting expenses of RM3.68 million, ASSAR recorded a net income of RM16.19 million.
He said, taking into account the RM12 million surplus income from the previous financial year, the total distributable income as of December 31, 2025 reached RM28.19 million.
Also present at the ceremony were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Leonard Linggi Jugah, Chairman of the ASSAR Capitalization Group of Companies Dato Sri Wahab Dolah and other dignitaries.-UKASnews
