2026 Sarawak-Level Chinese New Year Celebration To Be Held At BCCK On 17 February
KUCHING: The 2026 Sarawak-Level Chinese New Year Celebration will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on 17 February from 10 am to 2 pm.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian said the annual celebration is set to be graced by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
According to him, the celebration will serve as an important platform in fostering unity, mutual respect and understanding among the state’s multi-ethnic communities.
“This annual celebration plays a significant role as a platform to nurture unity, mutual respect and understanding among the diverse communities in Sarawak.
“It reflects the spirit of inclusivity and harmony that has long formed the foundation of the state’s strength and stability,” he said during a press conference held at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Wednesday.
The Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government invited members of the public to attend and enliven the celebration.
He added that the inclusive celebration reflects the values of sharing, togetherness and mutual appreciation that form the core of Sarawak’s unique social harmony.
Also present at the press conference were Minister for Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee and Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak Datu Elizabeth Loh. -UKASnews
