2026 CNY Sumbangsih: 11,900 Food Packs Will Be Distributed To 11 Agencies
KUCHING: A total of 11,900 food packs will be distributed to 11 agencies, including the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), in conjunction with the 2026 Chinese New Year Sumbangsih Programme.
The annual programme organised by the Women and Family Department of Sarawak (JWKS) reflects the Sarawak Government’s appreciation and concern for security and enforcement personnel who will be on duty safeguarding public safety, peace and order throughout the festive season.
A symbolic presentation ceremony of the Sumbangsih packs is set to be officiated by the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, on 13 February at the Kompleks Satria Pertiwi.
In preparation for the ceremony, the symbolic packing event was officiated by Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah at Wisma Wanita on Wednesday.
Also present were Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State–Federal Relations) who is also Chairperson of the SABERKAS Women’s Bureau, Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and JWKS Director Salma Jobeli.
At the event, 4,000 food packs were prepared with the cooperation of representatives from the 11 agencies together with JWKS staff.
Earlier, the delivery, receipt and quality inspection of supplied products were carried out from 2 to 9 February to ensure that each pack is in good condition before distribution.
This year, the Sumbangsih packs have been enhanced with the inclusion of retort or ready-to-eat meals.
Each pack contains five types of food and beverages which are hoped to boost morale and uplift the spirits of security and enforcement personnel who sacrifice time with their families in carrying out their duties throughout the festive season. -UKASnews
