Sarawak Premier Extends Condolences To Datu Dr Lulie On Husband’s Passing
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg took the time to visit the residence of the President of the Malaysian Peat Society (MPS) and Chairperson of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) Sarawak Chapter Datu Dr Lulie Melling following the passing of her husband, the late James Alfred Chabu on Wednesday.
The presence of the Sarawak Premier reflects the state government's compassion and support for the deceased's family in facing this difficult time.
While expressing condolences to Datu Dr Lulie, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also took the opportunity to meet with family members and offered words of encouragement for the family to be given strength and fortitude in facing this ordeal.
Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai and Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben were also present to pay their last respects and extend their condolences to the deceased's family.
Also present was former Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion who described the deceased's passing as a great loss.
"James' passing was deeply felt by many, especially his friends and acquaintances.
"He was a very kind person and approachable to all," he said when met by the media.
James Alfred Chabu passed away on Tuesday at the age of 65.
He was remembered as a friendly and well-liked person.
His passing left a deep impression not only on his family, but also on his close friends and acquaintances. -UKASnews
