KUCHING:,A total of 200 recipients consisting of asnaf and mualaf under the Samariang constituency received donations through the Ramadan Hope Programme of the Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) Sarawak branch with CIMB Islamic Bank 2026 which was held at the Ilhwanul Islam Mosque, Taman Sukma, on Tuesday.
The programme, organised by the Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) Sarawak branch in collaboration with CIMB Islamic Bank, is a welfare initiative to help ease the burden of the needy in preparing for Ramadan.
The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) and Samariang Assemblywoman, Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, who also presented donations to the recipients and mingled with the local community.
In her speech, she expressed her appreciation to YADIM and CIMB Islamic Bank for choosing the Samariang area as the location for the implementation of the welfare program.
According to her, strategic collaboration between agencies and financial institutions like this reflects a continuous commitment to empowering the well-being of the people.
She stressed that such programmes not only help in terms of material needs, but also fuel the spirit of togetherness and concern ahead of Ramadan.
“Ramadan is a month full of blessings and an opportunity for us to improve ourselves, improve our practices and strengthen our relationships. Initiatives like this are very meaningful for those in need,” she said.
Meanwhile, representatives of CIMB Islamic Bank and YADIM in their respective speeches expressed their commitment to continue expanding the implementation of corporate social responsibility programs, especially those that benefit the underprivileged Muslim community in this state.
For 2026, the Ramadan Hope Programme will be expanded to six selected constituencies in Sarawak to ensure that assistance can be channeled more comprehensively to the target group.
The assistance distributed is hoped to help recipients make early preparations to celebrate Ramadan more calmly and meaningfully.-UKASnews
