Balingian & Tellian Assemblymen Enliven CNY Celebrations In Mukah
MUKAH: In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi and Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine paid a friendly visit to several homes around Mukah, on Tuesday.
The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between leaders and the people as well as to instill a spirit of unity among the multi-racial community in this district.
The Chinese New Year celebration is also a platform to strengthen harmony and understanding between races in Sarawak.
The practice of visiting during the festive season reflects the spirit of goodwill that has long been the pillar of strength in the community in Mukah.
Abdul Yakub and Royston also expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome given by the local residents throughout the visit.
According to them, the diversity of cultures and customs in Sarawak is a strength that needs to be continued to be nurtured for the sake of common prosperity.
In addition, the spirit of togetherness and respect shown by the people in Mukah proves that unity in this state is always intact, they added.
Their presence was also warmly welcomed by the host who appreciated the concern of local leaders in celebrating the festival with the people regardless of their racial and religious backgrounds.
