Badudun Ramadan Programme Strengthens Bonds Between Leaders & People
LIMBANG: The Badudun Ramadan programme continues to serve as a significant platform in fostering closer ties between leaders and the people since its introduction in 2006, and it has been carried on consistently to this day.
The programme forms part of a series of visits to mosques and suraus around the Limbang District throughout the month of Ramadan, with the aim of strengthening silaturahim and reaching out to grassroots communities.
Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said that the spirit of togetherness and consensus between leaders and the people is vital in ensuring that every development plan can be implemented comprehensively and inclusively.
“Programmes such as this not only enliven Ramadan, but also serve as a bridge connecting leaders and the people.
“Close relationships will facilitate the dissemination of information and the implementation of development initiatives,” he said when speaking at the programme at Surau Nur Setia Hj Abdullah, Kampung Limpaong on Friday.
The Bukit Kota Assemblyman added that going to the ground and engaging directly with the community provides an opportunity to hear first-hand the views, suggestions and needs of local residents.
As such, he expressed hope that programmes of this nature would continue to serve as an effective medium for conveying information on government policies and initiatives, while enhancing public understanding of ongoing and upcoming development efforts in the Bukit Kota area.
He also called on mosques and suraus to continue playing their role as centres of community unity, not only in terms of worship, but also as platforms for discussion and cooperation in advancing the well-being of society.
During the same programme, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman also presented contributions from the N.79 Bukit Kota State Constituency Service Centre to 10 asnaf from the village. -UKASnews
