Festive Visit Strengthens Ties As Santubong MP Engages With Lundu Community
LUNDU: The Aidilfitri atmosphere continued to be enlivened with a Ziarah Raya by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development and Santubong Member of Parliament Dato Sri Nancy Shukri to several residences of community leaders in Kampung Sekambal Melayu and Kampung Sileng Melayu on Friday.
The visit took place following her official visit to the Lundu District Police Headquarters (IPD) in the morning, before she continued her agenda of engaging with the local community in a warm and familial atmosphere in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
During the visit, Dato Sri Nancy called upon the residence of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjong Datu Women’s Chief, Fatimah Abdullah, as well as the home of PBB Tanjong Datu Deputy Branch Chief, Abdul Razak Abdul Wahab.
The visit served not only as a platform to strengthen kinship ties but also reflected her ongoing commitment to reaching out to the people at the grassroots level.
In addition to checking on their well-being, she spent time interacting with the hosts and their family members, further reinforcing the relationship between the leadership and the local community in the district.
Also in attendance were the Political Secretary to the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Mohammed Kamaludin Mohd Efendie, Chief Executive Officer of the National Welfare Foundation Nordina Haron, and Deputy Federal Director of the Sarawak Social Welfare Department Mohd Ali Taib. — UKASnews
