Sarawak Government Continues To Drive Rural Development
TATAU: The Sarawak Government’s commitment to narrowing the rural development gap has been further strengthened with the successful completion of several projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) in the Kakus area, bringing renewed prospects to the local community.
Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department, Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, said the implementation of these projects reflects the government’s determination to ensure that every development plan delivers a direct and meaningful impact on grassroots well-being.
According to him, the development initiatives are not merely aimed at meeting basic needs, but are carried out in a structured manner with emphasis on safety, comfort and the economic sustainability of rural communities.
“These projects are not just physical facilities; they are critical in enhancing safety standards and facilitating the daily movement of residents for economic activities and access to essential services,” he explained.
During an official working visit around Tatau on Saturday, he inspected the repair works of the Nanga Sidang Bridge, which have now been fully completed and are ready for use by local residents.
Dato Sri John Sikie stressed that close monitoring would continue to ensure that every RTP project proceeds according to the stipulated timeline, without compromising on quality and implementation standards.
Also accompanying the visit was Bintulu Division Resident, Datu Nyurak Keti. -UKASnews
