LHDN Strengthens Phase 4 Of e-Invoicing, Involves 10,000 Sarawak Companies
KUCHING: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) continues to strengthen the nation's tax system digitalisation agenda through the implementation of e-Invoicing, which has now entered Phase 4, involving approximately 10,000 companies in Sarawak.
LHDN Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin said the implementation of this latest phase is part of a tax transformation initiative to enhance transparency, efficiency, and tax compliance among companies.
"Approximately 10,000 companies in Sarawak falling under Phase 4 will participate in the e-Invoicing initiative," he remarked.
He said this during a press conference after paying a courtesy call on the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on Wednesday.
At the national level, nearly 200,000 companies across Malaysia have been involved in the e-Invoicing rollout, with the total number of digital documents received now surpassing one billion.
According to him, in addition to e-Invoicing, LHDN also encourages company participation in the ‘Tax Corporate Governance’ programme—a strategic collaboration between the agency and the corporate sector to ensure tax governance and reporting are at their best.
Commenting on e-Filing access, particularly in rural areas, he informed that LHDN provides assistance through its network of offices and satellite offices throughout Sarawak.
"Should there be any difficulties in submission, offices across Sarawak are ready to assist. Since the e-Filing system has been implemented for a long time and compliance levels are high, individuals still facing issues can visit any office or satellite office across the state," he added.
During the meeting, Datuk Dr Abu Tariq also introduced LHDN Sarawak's leadership line-up to Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, which is now led by Abang Ehsan Abang Abu Bakar as the Sarawak Director of HASiL.
