Toh Puan Fauziah Enlivens Bubur Pedas Cooking Event As MAKSAK Cares Reaches Out To Kuala Lumpur Community
KUALA LUMPUR: The traditional Sarawak dish, bubur pedas, served as a unifying force as members of the Sarawak community living away from home gathered for the MAKSAK Cares programme, held in a lively atmosphere at the Sarawak Liaison Office in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
The highlight of the event saw the wife of the Sarawak Governor and Patron of MAKSAK Women Sarawak, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, joining the community in cooking bubur pedas as a symbol of togetherness and the spirit of Ramadan.
Also present to enliven the occasion was the daughter of the Sarawak Premier, Dayang Noorjihan Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari, Chairwoman of MAKSAK Women Sarawak Dato Baduyah Bujang, as well as other members of MAKSAK Women Sarawak.
The event was also attended by the Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
In addition to working together to prepare bubur pedas, the programme was further enhanced by the presentation of heartfelt contributions to those in need, reflecting MAKSAK Cares’ compassion and sense of social responsibility throughout the month of Ramadan.
The organisation of such programmes not only keeps alive the cherished tradition of communal cooking that forms part of Sarawak’s cultural heritage, but also strengthens bonds of friendship among the community living away from their home state. -UKASnews
