Road Safety Campaign: 100 Helmets Distributed To The Public
KUCHING: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) Sarawak has contributed 100 helmets distributed to members of the public using the PETRONAS Darul Hana petrol station in support of the Road Safety Campaign during the Ramadan Prihatin Programme.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri,l said that this provides an opportunity, especially for young families who may be unable to afford to purchase them on their own.
"So this is an excellent opportunity; there are also elderly recipients as some of them are occasionally less well-off," she said.
She said this when met by reporters after officiating the Ramadan Prihatin Programme: Bubur Lambuk Handover Ceremony and the Balik Kampung Road Safety Campaign at the petrol station on Saturday.
Dato Sri Nancy expressed her gratitude and thanked PETRONAS Sarawak for providing a contribution that is quite unique.
The Santubong Member of Parliament also expressed hope that such contributions would continue in other areas as part of efforts to engage with the public.
At the same time, she also performed the symbolic handover of bubur lambuk to the public at the petrol station.
It is understood that a total of 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed in conjunction with the Ramadan Prihatin Programme. — UKASnews
