Sarawak Energy Iftar Strengthens Government–Industry Ties
KUCHING: An iftar gathering hosted by Sarawak Energy with its strategic partners served as an important platform to strengthen cooperation between the government, industry and key stakeholders during the month of Ramadan.
The event held at a leading hotel here was graced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, on Thursday.
Among the dignitaries present were Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Deputy Minister (Energy) in the Prime Minister's Department of Brunei Darussalam Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohamad Azmi Mohd Hanifah, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni and Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) who is also Chairman of Sarawak Energy Datuk Ibrahim Baki.
Also present were Sarawak Energy Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili along with members of the board of directors, senior company leadership, heads of departments, industry partners and media practitioners.
The annual event by Sarawak Energy brought together about 400 guests, serving as an ongoing effort to enhance ties and collaboration with various stakeholders who continue to support the development of the state’s energy sector.
According to Datuk Sharbini, the month of Ramadan provides an opportunity for all parties to strengthen the spirit of unity, in addition to acknowledging the ties that have been established between Sarawak Energy and its strategic partners.
He also reaffirmed Sarawak Energy’s commitment to providing a stable and sustainable energy supply, in addition to strengthening collaboration with the government and industry partners in supporting the economic development and wellbeing of Sarawakians.
After breaking fast, guests performed the Maghrib prayer, followed by Isyak and Tarawih prayers in congregation led by Sarawak Grand Imam Dato Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.
The organisation of the event not only strengthened bonds of goodwill during Ramadan but also reinforced strategic collaboration networks in advancing Sarawak’s development towards achieving developed state status by 2030. -UKASnews
