Bubur Lambuk Roadshow, SABERKAS Prihatin Programme Enlivens Ramadan In Kapit
KAPIT: The Bubur Lambuk Roadshow and SABERKAS Prihatin 2026 programme organised by the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Pelagus Branch, held at the Ramadan Bazaar at Kapit Town Square on Friday, successfully enlivened the Ramadan atmosphere while strengthening ties among the local community.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, when speaking at the event, said that the organisation of programmes such as this not only brings the spirit of Ramadan to life through community activities, but also serves as an important platform to strengthen unity and the spirit of togetherness among the local community.
According to the Bukit Goram Assemblyman, the values of mutual respect, togetherness and the practice of sharing sustenance throughout the month of Ramadan should continue to be nurtured as the foundation for harmony and the well-being of society.
Meanwhile, Minister of Works and Member of Parliament for Kapit, Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, expressed support for the organisation of programmes centred on welfare and community engagement.
He described such initiatives as capable of bringing leaders closer to the people while also reflecting the government’s concern for those in need.
During the event, food baskets were also presented to 21 veteran members and 16 underprivileged residents from Kampung Melayu Kapit.
In addition, two individuals received contributions through the SABERKAS Prihatin programme, which were presented by the guests of honour.
Also present at the event were Kapit Division Resident Elvis Didit, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Watson Awan Jalai, Political Secretary to the Minister of Works Malaysia, Datuk Alvin Runggah, and SABERKAS Pelagus Branch Chairman, Councillor Mohamad Junaidi. -UKASnews
