Political Stability Key To Advancing Sarawak’s Development
SIMANGGANG: The rakyat have been urged to help ensure political stability in the state to enable the Sarawak Government to effectively formulate development policies for their benefit.
Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said political stability is crucial as it forms the foundation for the implementation of development projects planned by the government.
“When the political environment is stable, the government can focus fully on formulating policies and implementing development projects that benefit the people.
“Public support will also help accelerate development, particularly in education, innovation and talent development, which are key pillars of Sarawak’s progress,” he said.
He said this during a brief speech at a site visit for Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects in the Simanggang constituency at Rumah Duman Gunggang, Kampung Sri Kejatau, here, recently.
In addition, the Simanggang Assemblyman emphasised the importance of delivering development through physical implementation, particularly through RTP projects by the Sarawak Government to fund basic infrastructure and facilities for local communities.
He explained that the annual RM5 million allocation for RTP projects for each Sarawak Government elected representative will help bridge the development gap between urban and rural areas over time.
Earlier, Datuk Francis and his delegation visited the site of a reinforced concrete crossing project at Rumah Ipan Chupong, Kampung Pruan C, as well as the construction site of a new longhouse at Rumah Charli Ata in Kampung Pruan A.
He later concluded the visit at a drainage upgrading project site at Rumah Duman Gunggang, Kampung Sri Kejatau, where he also received feedback from the local Tuai Rumah. -UKASnews
