Sarawak Continues To Attract International Investors
KUCHING: Sarawak is gaining increasing recognition on the international stage and is emerging as a model for other states, driven by its political stability and clear development policies.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the state’s reputation is growing stronger not only at the national level but also globally, attracting attention from regions such as the European Union and the United States.
“Many are now coming to Sarawak. If we look at it, ambassadors from the European Union have visited Sarawak, as well as those from the United States.
“Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg has also been invited to share his views on the new economy, particularly in hydrogen production.
“So, we must seize this opportunity, and we are confident that we can move forward and further enhance development in Sarawak,” he said.
Datuk Amar Awang Tengah said this when speaking at the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED) 2026 Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri event held here, on Wednesday.
The MINTRED Minister added that Sarawak has also established a legal framework to ensure that every investment boost investor confidence, whether in the form of foreign direct investment (FDI) or domestic direct investment (DDI), with all investments assured and well protected.
As such, he called on all staff, including agencies under MINTRED, to work together as a team and adopt more creative approaches in their work.
“By doing so, we can implement the right strategies in carrying out our duties and responsibilities.
“We must also ensure that Sarawak continues to remain a leading destination for investment,” he said.
