Public Housing Commitment Strengthened, HDC Targets 2,500 Units By 2030
KUCHING: The commitment to providing quality and affordable housing for Sarawakians remains a priority, with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) playing an important role in realising the agenda.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian said the continued effort covers various aspects, particularly in ensuring access to comfortable and affordable homes is further strengthened for the wellbeing of the people.
He said this when speaking at the Ramah Tamah Raya HDC & Mutiara 2026 event at Wisma Sultan Tengah HDC, here on Friday.
To date, HDC has successfully completed 14 projects involving 924 housing units, while by 2030 the target will be increased to 27 projects with an estimated 2,500 units to be developed.
Earlier, the event began with welcoming remarks by HDC Chairman Abdul Yakub Arbi who expressed appreciation for the strong commitment shown by staff in supporting the organisation’s aspirations.
The event was further enlivened by a variety of Aidilfitri delicacies that reflected cultural diversity while fostering closer interaction in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. -UKASnews
