Sarawak Police Alumni Association Urged To Explore New Income Sources
KUCHING: The Sarawak Police Alumni Association has been urged to explore various new income sources to strengthen its financial position and ensure the organisations future sustainability.
Kabong Assemblyman, Dato Mohd Chee Kadir, stated that such efforts are essential so that the association can be self-reliant and continue to play an active role in society.
“The association may consider property development or commercial spaces such as kiosk, co-working offices, seminar halls, and training centres, to be rented out to generate sustainable income.
“Furthermore, the establishment of cooperatives or subsidiaries to operate businesses such as security services, security consultancy, discipline training, and event management should also be explored,” he said.
He said this while speaking at the dinner held in conjunction with the 10th Annual General Meeting of the Sarawak Police Alumni Association, which took place here on Friday.
According to him, the association could also own income-generating assets such as rental vans, homestays, rest houses, shop lots, of commercial agricultural land managed professionally.
He added that the expertise of former police officers should be utilised through the establishment of security training centres, crime prevention courses, and consultancy services for the private sector.
In the meantime, he also emphasised the importance of strengthening strategic networks with government agencies, corporate firms, and government-linked companies (GLCs) through the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
He is confident that, with meticulous planning and effective management, the Sarawak Police Alumni Association can grow as a resilient and sustainable organisation in the future. -UKASnews
