Sarawak Secretary Reviews Final Preparations For Sarawakku Sayang Miri
MIRI: Final preparations for the Miri Division Sarawakku Sayang 2026 Programme at Miri Stadium are progressing satisfactorily, with close attention being given to key aspects to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki conducted a visit to the programme location on Monday to personally inspect the level of readiness ahead of the event, scheduled to take place from 24 to 26 April.
Also present were Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration) Datu Felicia Tan Ya Hua, Miri Division Resident Galong Luang and Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan.
The inspection focused on the progress of the main stage, which is currently being actively prepared, as well as the layout of exhibition booths involving various government agencies and departments.
During the visit, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar also reviewed visitor movement arrangements including entry and exit routes to ensure smooth crowd flow throughout the programme.
Emphasis was also placed on visitor safety and comfort, alongside supporting facilities such as parking areas, public toilets and logistical amenities, all of which are now in the final phase of preparation.
The atmosphere around the stadium reflected the strong commitment of workers who were busy completing various requirements, including the installation of stage structures, exhibition tents, as well as technical works involving lighting and sound systems.
The Miri Division Sarawakku Sayang Programme is expected to attract around 20,000 visitors from Miri and surrounding areas including Baram, Sibuti, Bintulu and neighbouring Brunei.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg on 25 April at the Miri Stadium. -UKASnews
