Sarawakku Sayang Programme Strengthens Information Delivery, Addresses Public Uncertainty
KUCHING: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme serves as a strategic platform in strengthening the delivery of government information, addressing the public's uncertainty over various initiatives implemented by the state government.
Sarawak Minister for Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin stressed that the grassroots approach through the programme enables the public to obtain authentic and accurate information directly from relevant agencies.
He said that the delivery of information directly and transparently can increase the public's confidence in government policies and encourage continued cooperation in driving the state's development.
"To receive accurate services and information, this programme presents a good opportunity. Don't always rely on social media because sometimes the information is not accurate," he said.
He said this when appearing as a guest on Juh Randau UKAS to discuss the Sarawakku Sayang 2026 Programme at the UKAS Studio on Tuesday.
The Senadin Assemblyman stressed that a clear understanding among the public is a key element in ensuring that every government initiative can be implemented effectively and provide comprehensive benefits.
Regarding SKS, Dato Sri Lee explained that the programme brings together various important information related to government policies and initiatives for public understanding.
“Through this programme, the government brings all the important information that the people need to know and understand,” he explained.
He added that the provision of service counters by various agencies provides space for the public to obtain further explanations and direct assistance without relying on unofficial sources.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Miri Division SKS Organising Committee and Miri Division Resident Galong Luang said that the programme also strengthens the delivery of government services at the grassroots level through face-to-face interaction with the community.
“This is an opportunity for the people to hear for themselves and obtain clearer information about government initiatives,” he said.
The SKS programme in Miri, scheduled to take place from 24 to 26 April, includes five main components, namely official events, exhibitions, service counters, entrepreneur sales and community activities that are comprehensively organised to meet the needs of various levels of society. -UKASnews
