180 Civil Servants Conferred Loyal Service Medals In Miri
MIRI: A total of 180 civil servants from 16 departments and agencies were honoured with the Loyal Service Medals in a ceremony officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at a hotel here, on Friday.
The ceremony marked the third of such presentation in 2026, involving recipients from 11 state government departments and five Federal agencies in recognition of their dedicated service.
Among those listed were recipients with over 39 years of service, including Richard Jabon from the Forest Department Sarawak (39 years), as well as Lee Bu Chong (40 years), Kalanah Bagol (40 years), Felix Druce (40 years) and Nilan Taygng (41 years), all from Miri City Council.
In addition, the list of recipients included representatives from various agencies including the Miri Division Resident's Office, Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, Forest Department Sarawak, Department of Irrigation and Drainage Sarawak and Department of Agriculture Sarawak.
Also listed are recipients from city and district councils in the Miri Division, Miri Port Authority, Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation, National Registration Department Sarawak, Malaysian Immigration Department Sarawak, Royal Malaysian Customs Department Sarawak, Sarawak State Health Department and Sarawak State Education Department.
The ceremony reflected the government’s appreciation for the commitment and loyalty of civil servants in delivering the best services to the people.
Earlier, the Sarawak Premier performed Friday prayers at the Miri At-Taqwa Mosque upon arrival from Miri Airport before gracing the ceremony.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Ministers, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Ministers, Deputy Sarawak Secretaries as well as other dignitaries and heads of departments. -UKASnews
