KUCHING: The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) held an engagement session with the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) aimed at strengthening roles and enhancing aspects of media management.
The discussion, held at the UKAS headquarters here on Monday, focused on efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation between both parties in promoting various tourism events, particularly the organisation of international-level events in Kuching.
The STB delegation, led by its Director of Digital and Communications Melvin Jong was received by UKAS Director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan.
Melvin was accompanied by STB Communications Manager Aina Rashidah Md Noh and Assistant Manager Abdul Yazeed.
The delegation was also brought on a tour to the UKAS Studio to observe the facilities and media production capabilities possessed by the agency in supporting information dissemination and the promotion of the state government.
During the session, both parties also discussed an integrated approach to broaden local media coverage in order to enhance programme visibility and attract a greater number of domestic and international tourists to Sarawak.
This collaboration is seen as a proactive step in strengthening Sarawak’s position as a leading tourism destination, in line with the state government’s ongoing efforts to intensify tourism promotion. -UKASnews
