LIMBANG: Close cooperation between the Federal Government and the Sarawak Government continues to be a vital driver in strengthening the rural education agenda to ensure that access to quality education can be enjoyed by all citizens comprehensively.
Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek said that political stability at both Federal and state levels allows various educational initiatives to be implemented more effectively, particularly involving school infrastructure development, digital learning, and the welfare of students and teachers.
According to her, the government is committed to ensuring that every education policy can be translated down to the grassroots level so that its benefits are felt by rural communities.
"With a stable government, we can ensure that various benefits and assistance are channelled directly to the people," she said while speaking at the Parliament Follow-up Programme (TSP) Series 1 of 2026 at SK Limpaku Pinang on Friday.
During the programme, a total of RM272,875.50 was allocated for maintenance work on quarters, preschool improvements, and upgrading the school's water tanks.
In addition, a smart board was donated by the Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn, while 20 tablets were provided by Yayasan Didik Negara to support students' digital learning.
An amount of RM10,000 was also allocated through the Digital Education Policy Professional Support Programme to empower teachers' competency in integrating technology within the classroom.
At the same time, 33 sets of schooling support were distributed to students in need as an effort to ensure they do not drop out of the education stream.
She also expressed her appreciation to the Sarawak Government for its continuous commitment to supporting educational development and ensuring that children in the state receive better access to education regardless of location.
Also present were the Deputy Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Limbang, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, the Deputy Director-General of Education Malaysia (School Operations Sector), Zainal Abas, and the Deputy Resident of Limbang Division, Marie Cotilla Louise.-UKASnews
