KDCA Partners With DBKU For ‘Let’s Share The Road’ Tribute Ride & Safety Campaign
KUCHING: The Kuching Division Cycling Association (KDCA) is partnering with the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Car Free Morning initiative to present the “Let’s Share The Road” Tribute Ride and Road Safety Awareness Campaign.
The initiative seeks to champion road safety awareness, promote mutual respect among motorists and cyclists, and foster a safer cycling environment in Kuching, all while honouring the memory of the late Ken Yeo.
A press release from the KDCA stated that the event serves as the official launch of their long-term “Let’s Share The Road” campaign, which will be held quarterly throughout the year.
The campaign acts as a vital reminder of cyclists’ rights on the road, highlighting that road safety is a collective duty shared by motorists, cyclists, and the general public alike.
Flagging off from the Kuching Waterfront, the 5-kilometre event requires all cyclists to assemble by 6:30 am.
Beginning and ending at the waterfront, the event will kick off with a compulsory safety briefing for all participants before the official flag-off.
The general public, local cycling communities, and various groups are invited to join the event in solidarity, uniting to champion a culture of mutual respect and safety on the roads.
The KDCA aims to cultivate more patience and consideration on the roads through this campaign, reminding the public that even a brief lapse in judgment can have permanent, life-changing impacts. -UKASnews
