14 Recipients Of Sarawak Maal Hijrah 1448H Awards Recognised For Their Contributions To Ummah
MIRI: A total of 14 individuals, educational institutions, mosques and families received the Sarawak Maal Hijrah Awards 1448H/2026M in recognition of their excellence and contributions towards empowering the development of the ummah, education, dakwah and community well-being in the state.
The awards were presented by the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, in appreciation of the recipients who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication in their respective fields.
For the Research and Development Award category, the honour was bestowed upon Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr Siti Kudnie Sahari, while Norhaza Ahmad Redzuan Abdullah received the Preacher Award.
Masjid Al-Ghazali, Kuching received the Mosque Management and Administration Award, while Mohd Syukri Abdullah was named the recipient of the Muslim Civil Servant Award.
In the Non-Muslim Civil Servant Award category, the award was presented to Datu Kueh Lei Poh in recognition of his contribution towards strengthening interfaith harmony and cooperation in Sarawak.
Keluarga Laman Yasim received the Outstanding Family Award, while Nurul Cleo Sharmeen Roslam was announced as the recipient of the Youth Award.
For the Saudara Kita Award category, Helmi Abdullah received the award in the male category, while Zainab Sato Abdullah received the award in the female category.
In the field of education, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Tun Ahmad Zaidi (TUNAZ) received the Religious Secondary School Award, while Sekolah Kebangsaan Agama (SKA) MIS Sri Aman received the Religious Primary School Award.
Also receiving recognition were Nurul Shazwani Mohamad Rashdan, recipient of the Malaysian Higher Religious Certificate (STAM) Student Award; Josh Hamid Doharome Suparno, recipient of the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) Student Award; and Hanies Nadhrah Nehal, recipient of the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) Student Award. -UKASnews
