Smart Classrooms Strengthen Digital Learning Among Students In Sarawak
KAPIT: The Sarawak Government continues to strengthen its digital learning agenda by expanding the use of smart classrooms equipped with digital boards in schools to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said the facility ensures that learning syllabuses can be accessed online, including the proper use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
"I have called for smart classrooms equipped with digital boards to be set up.
"These digital boards can be accessed online for all subjects, including artificial intelligence (AI).
"However, the use of AI must be more closely monitored, especially for students aged 16 and below.
"These digital boards will be one initiative to boost students' interest in using technology," he said.
He said this while officiating at a working visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Baru primary school here on Saturday to inspect the school's newly completed rebuilding project, which was finished in 2025.
According to Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, the initiative reflects the state government's commitment to driving the use of digital technology in the education sector while ensuring students are taught technology in a proper and appropriate manner.
During the visit, he received a briefing from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) before inspecting the academic block, administration block and various new facilities provided at the school.
The RM12.84 million SK Kampung Baru rebuilding project involved the construction of a four-storey academic block and a four-storey administration block equipped with modern facilities, including a science room, a resource centre, a teachers' office, an administration room and other supporting facilities.
The project benefits 260 students and 33 teachers and successfully resolves the school's dilapidated status, providing a more comfortable and spacious learning environment.
