MBKS Assists More Than 70 Applicants Through Temporary SKDS Registration Counter
KUCHING: The Kuching South City Hall (MBKS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak, has successfully assisted more than 70 members of the public with their applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) on the first day of its temporary registration counter at their premises in Jalan Padungan.
The temporary counter, which operates from 15 to 16 July 2026, was established following numerous enquiries from members of the public seeking assistance with the SKDS application process.
Kuching Souty Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng who visited the counter this morning said the encouraging response reflects the need for accessible and people-friendly government services.
“We have received many enquiries from the public regarding SKDS applications. Through this collaboration with KPDN Sarawak, MBKS is able to provide a convenient location where eligible applicants can obtain guidance and complete their applications more easily. We are pleased that more than 70 applicants have already been assisted today, “ he said.
Dato Wee said the initiative is part of MBKS' ongoing commitment to bringing government services closer to the people and helping residents navigate important application processes.
“Our priority has always been to find practical ways to serve the community. By working together with KPDN Sarawak, we hope to save applicants time, reduce inconvenience and ensure that those who are eligible receive the assistance they need,” he added.
MBKS encourages members of the public who have yet to register for the SKDS and require assistance to visit the temporary counter tomorrow, 16 July 2026 (Thursday), from 9AM to 3PM.
Applicants are advised to bring along all the required supporting documents to facilitate a smooth registration process.
MBKS will continue to collaborate with relevant government agencies to enhance service delivery and ensure that essential public services remain accessible, efficient and beneficial to the community. - UKASnews
