SIBU: Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang came alive last night as thousands of people from all walks of life gathered for the Konsert Rakyat held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day 2026 celebration.

The concert, which began at 11 pm, opened with a vibrant line-up of performances featuring local artistes and homegrown Sarawakian talents, captivating the crowd with a diverse selection of songs spanning various genres and languages.

Ricky Andrewson kicked off the event with his popular hit Berkikis Bulu Betis, setting the tone for an energetic night of entertainment.

The excitement continued with Claudia Geres who delighted the audience with Berdua Lebih Baik and the international hit Baby One More Time.

The festive atmosphere gathered pace as Firdaus Materang took to the stage with spirited renditions of Kelentang Kelentong and Risk It All, before Ericson entertained concertgoers with Yank and Jangan Paksa Rindu.

Also stealing the spotlight was Kelly Ho’s performance of the popular Mandarin song Shuo Ai Ni as well as the World Cup theme song Waka Waka, reflecting the cultural diversity and artistic harmony performed that night.

The momentum continued as Mawat thrilled the audience with a medley of songs, including Kembali Merindu, Tungkat Semengat, Kicau Maniac and Dayang Bintang.

Renowned Malaysian singer and former Miss Malaysia Dewi Liana Seriestha also impressed the crowd with powerful renditions of Andai Saja and Dia.

The highlight of the night was a performance by celebrated Sarawakian singer Hafiz Suip who brought the concert to a rousing close with his hit songs Bahagiamu Deritaku, Kisah Cinta Kita and Noktah Cinta, capping off the Sarawak Day 2026 celebration to thunderous applause from the audience. -UKASnews
