Pickleball Match Strengthens Sportsmanship Between Sarawak Agriculture Department & UKAS
KUCHING: The friendly pickleball match held between the Sarawak Department of Agriculture and the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) not only aims to strengthen relations as strategic partners, but also to encourage Sarawak civil servants to be actively involved in sports and recreational activities.
Sarawak Department of Agriculture Director Dominic Chunggat said that his department took the approach of holding a friendly pickleball match as the sport was gaining ground among Sarawak civil servants.
“We see that the leadership in Sarawak, especially the Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki strongly encourages Sarawak civil servants to continue to be actively involved in sports and recreation.
“Taking into account the pickleball game which is currently receiving a very good response among Sarawak civil servants,” he said when met after the match held at Pikabol here, on Monday.
Dominic also expressed hope that every civil servant, particularly in the Sarawak Department of Agriculture, to continue to maintain good health as called for by the Sarawak Secretary by practicing work-life balance.
“As the Director of the Sarawak Department of Agriculture, I hope that my colleagues in the Sarawak Government departments and agencies will continue to be active in recreational activities, especially in pickleball.
“Through the practice of work-life balance or balance of work and life, civil servants need to ensure that their work does not interfere with time with their family, time for themselves and other important activities in life,” he said.
On this occasion, he thanked UKAS Director Awang Putrayustrie Awang Redzuan along with UKAS officers and staff who accepted the invitation of the Sarawak Department of Agriculture in holding this friendly match in addition to the Sarawak Agricultural Club who organised this friendly pickleball match. -UKASnews
