Sarawak Science Centre Envisioned As Global Hub For Scientific Collaboration
KUCHING: The Sarawak Science Centre (SSCiEX) is envisioned as a global hub for scientific collaboration, bringing together scientists, researchers and research institutions from around the globe to explore innovative solutions for the future of Sarawak, Malaysia and the international community.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said SSCiEX was established not only for the benefit of Sarawak or Malaysia, but also as a platform to foster cross-border collaboration in science, technology and innovation.
“To all scientists, let us work hand-in-hand and make this centre a laboratory for developing solutions and innovations for the future of Sarawak, Malaysia and the world,” he said.
He said this during the inauguration of SSCiEX here on Wednesday.
According to him, Sarawak's strategic location on the island of Borneo, close to the Equator, provides a natural advantage in supporting a wide range of scientific research, innovation and development activities.
He said Borneo's rich natural resources, including its abundant water resources, sunlight and biodiversity, provide an ideal environment for research across various scientific disciplines.
“I hope this centre will serve as a catalyst for a brighter future,” he said. -UKASnews
