KUCHING: The adoption of technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), automation and data analytics will continue to be key drivers in transforming Sarawak’s construction industry towards higher quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said the future construction industry must integrate technology, innovation and human expertise to ensure that development projects can meet the needs of future generations.

“I believe the future construction industry must combine the strengths of technology, innovation and human expertise to deliver higher quality development that fulfils the needs of future generations,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the Sarawak Construction Industry Integrity and Excellence Day celebration at CIDB Sarawak here on Thursday.

According to the Sarawak Premier, integrated project management systems, BIM, automation and data analytics can enhance efficiency, reduce risks and strengthen the decision-making process in project implementation.

Also present were Works Minister Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia Chairman Dato Ir. Yusuf Abdul Wahab, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak Director Dato Hasbilah Mohamad Salleh, as well as other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
